The two poems below express my understandings of how involvement with the outdoors through outward bound and military service create a sense of connectedness amongst the people of Singapore.
We come as individuals young, timid and reserved. Not knowing what is ahead or the challenges will face.

As I sat in the cool air conditioned train, waiting for our stop, I didn’t pay much attention to the man sitting next to me.
